Good vid, but, it's pronounced "soLdering", not "soddering"! Are your parents "odder" than you? No, they're "older". Does your fridge make things "codder"? No. Just remember, older, folder, colder, holder, SOLDER! Now you know

@weinmonster I believe what she is saying is "tinned" which means you keep your tip covered with a thin coating of solder. Southern accents are hard to hear sometimes.

Thank you so much for the excellent video! I bought a Bernzomatic butane torch some time ago, and hadn't tried it yet for soldering. (it has a soldering tip.) The durn thing won't heat up enough to solder! It could be that I'm not using it right, but I think I'll just go buy a nice Weller 100 W and be done with it. I used to solder electronics, to I know how, just not with the butane thingy! Don't worry - I have lead free solder now. ;-)
