Shield Test

This wasn't supposed to be a Star Trek Shield test, I just needed an image to map the effect onto, and I happened to grap the enterprise.

@MegaKrazysteve You're certainly right there. A shield should really look a bit more localized.. a slighy glow perhaps all around but much brighter around point of impact. Though it was pretty

To be honest, it doesn't look like a shield impact, it looks more like an EMP weapon hitting in the hull and effecting. But nicely done think it being an EMP from me anyway :D

Wouldnt the effect of the weapon impact on the shield be localized effect instead of across the entire shield?

You might want to minimize the shield effect so that it is most pronounced around the incoming beam and in the immediate surrounding area. That way it looks more like a reaction by the ship to the beam. By the effect wrapping around the entire ship, it is hard to tell if what you are depicting the reaction shields or the intended effect of the weapon on the ship. You could put the caption "Enterprise being disabled by an Ion Cannon (or whatever)" and used the same effect. Overall, well done.

The green laser beam doesn't work for me... but the actual shield flare that surrounds the ship when it's hit is top-notch. VERY nicely done!
