Some footage of Disney's defunct water park; River Country. It was a magical place and I wish I could still revisit it. The footage is from the 80's and the pictures are the way the place looks today.

Got to enjoy this park in 1998, three years before they shut it down. Had more fun here than at Blizzard Beach. Nothing beat Typhoon Lagoons wave pool though.

@DopeSmoken it wasnt just because this particular park had bacteria coming in, it was because of the new law that proposed no parks using their water from a lake, which is what the whole river country section was using.

river country was closed due to bacteria comeing up from the swamp disney world and bay lake were built on. we were told this years ago when river country closed by the cast member's who run the boats that go from fort wilderness and the contemperary and disney world its really sad because i remember all the fun times we had there when i was a child. Disney has changed so much things it will never be the way it use to be. anouther thing i remember is the cast member's use to be alot nicer. :(

this is also the same reason why you are not aloud to swim in bay lake at the beach's at any of the resorts. R.I.P. River Country.
