"The Vampire Movie" is a student short directed by Martin Lisius in 1980. Lisius: "This little movie was shot on Super 8mm film as a class project. The Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition had to be added to the film using tiny 1mm magnetic tape and glue. Imagine gluing several feet of tape about as wide as the point of a pencil, to the edge of 8mm film. It lasted one pass through the projector. The film was edited using a razor blade and clear tape. The star of the film was Jaime Lagueruela who plays a very convincing vampire. We used as little light as possible to add a bit of reality to the film. I figured that vampires really don't care much for light and that darkness would be their MO. To get a macabre look, we used actual pancake mix (not pancake stage makeup) on Jaime's face. That might have been a cinematic first. We shot at two churches and the historic Thistle Hill Mansion in Ft. Worth."
Great work, very good lighting. Reminds me of old hammer films
