Teaching a Guard command. This is pretty new to her at this point. Working at it from several points of view. Using the agitation stick as distraction and then giving her a static bite. Teaching her not to bite on movement, but to wait for the command. Then when given the attack command she's expected to go. Just teaching her where to put her mouth and when and then proofing it in different environments and with different people. In the video from the police expo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aM7JUt2Q_4) you can see her further along, also demonstrating the difference between a hard bite, and a soft mouth fetch. You can see the whole process being done off leash. Our Sit Means sit System allows owners and trainers to work with their dogs off leash without losing drive or work ethic.

  • Darrel congrats on training what seems to be a very happy dog

  • @Thek9basicschool

Thanks, you have a great looking dog club!

  • Isn't it a mistake to train the dog to attack you like that?..... He can develop an aggression towards you! I think you should do it with other people, not yourself!

  • @DanielaMiller109

If your dog retrieves something from your hand will he not go pick an object up from off the ground? You can teach your dog to do whatever you want. Very easy to teach the basics on a sleeve and than transfer to distant objects and add environmental pressures/ distractions when you're ready.

  • I got her from a shelter. She was my first dog and I was just experimenting with a few things, and then adding in some commands she already knows. She wasn't bred for anything. This video is just banging a stick for distraction and then letting her have a bite. Keeping it fun. I don't think there's anything here to get upset about. Go have some fun with your dog and post a video.

  • @darrelhager i hear that…i thought it was pretty impressive…how old was she when you got her from the shelter

  • @DeadBeluga

If you are having that problem with your dog you will need to proof the command and make sure your dog is going where you direct him. take a look at some retriever videos to get an idea of how to do this.

  • aren't you suppose to train your dog to attack the sleeve with the weapon on it???

  • @darrelhager dude thats stupid u need to do it on other ppl not ur self

  • how did u do that

  • @rockband5557 Pitbulls don't need to learn to bite, they already attack and kill stuff. They are the most popular dog to kill other dogs and even people. First step is to get a dog that is bred for the job. Pitbulls should never be taught to attack people.

  • Now thats an obidient Pitbull! My 8month old amstaff does whatever she wants, lol :P

  • if your the trainer and he bites you he won't gaurd you
