@laolanxang esan and lao actually have different dialect if u listen carefully instead claiming everything is lao...even southern lao and northern lao speak different so what make u think laos and esan will speak same? its just some words r same and both came from tai kadai language anyway so no one can claim it beside the tai kadai family tree the original? the sipsongpanna people thats who look it up and these people dont claim to be lao they call themself tai only lao claim they r lao

Lao and Thai language are pretty similar. I know there are differences. I mean Lao people, are able to understand Thai people well. So Idk why they would ask if it was difficult to understand, when it's obviously. If they were to listen. I can speak and understand both. :) Plus Lao people speaks Lao ... not Isan.
