Just perfect!

Did you use automotive paint? Did you have to strip off all of the old paint and did you use a coat of primer paint before putting on the black coat? I am preparing to work on a similar project. Thanks for the video.

I'm sorry, but I'm a purist... I wouldn't have painted black, and added digital thermostat... on the back of the unit.... not easy to turn around to check the temp... Those things weigh a ton! I had a 1940 GE... I just painted it white, it needed it. The interior was original and in very good shape. Came with all the racks and drawers!
I sold it to a friend to buy a 1935 Monitor Top... Love that fridge!

is that refrigerator made of thick steel or what?

They certainly don't make them like that anymore....
Beautifully restored

It was a beuty! Really quality materials, the chrome details just needed to be polish again, 60 years and still going!

@1runnynose Very nice fridge indeed...i replace the compressor, but it was working when i got the fridge.
Take speacial attention on the top...the evaporator have some tricky parts used in 1940's...it's a ball shape oil/gas pump located above the evaporator....if still works i would leave as original, i had a lot of work with this part of the process.
!sorry about my english!
