[Caution! Strong language and far too much swearing!]

Footage taken minutes after a 110 m.p.h. storm called a micro burst (not a tornado) destroyed the building where I once lived.

Pardon the swearing and the jokes within the video. I was making fun of myself for being stupid enough to stay inside a devastated building to videotape the memory. At the time I had no idea how bad it really was.

Nobody was seriously hurt nor killed and that's why I feel I can laugh at the tape today.

  • The video was pretty interesting, I think we could have done without the onscreen commentary, I swear like a sailor, but swearing that much is just junvenile. It's one thing to swear out of shock, it's different to sit down and edit in the word over and over.

  • WE = YOU could have done without the swearing.

I'll quote Steve Martin. "Comedy is not pretty."

Sorry you missed the video description before watching. I'll add it here for you.

  • I would of game you five stars if you would have filmed the storm.

  • Had I known there was going to be a storm I'd have surely filmed it. Of course I'd have been crushed by my ceiling anything for YouTube right?

Plus, the darned storm came and went in all of 5 seconds so I was pretty unlikely to have caught much.

  • Andy, I'm glad you guys are alright. I am moving into those apts next weekend... #303. Was that your apt?

  • We were apartment number #207 in the 628 Willow Wood Dr. building. #303??? The third floor was the one completely destroyed by the storm. Best hope that lightning - uh, microbursts don't hit twice.

  • I remembered when that happened going to school i saw the church wall like down, it was one crazy ass storm.

  • So actually ya DA your video is mistitled Microburst and there has never been recorded either with eye witnesses or video of dual microburst at the same location you really need to stick with your playstation, I checked with the records of the weather service and they didn't confirm any type of microburst DA!

  • @AndyMartelloComedy was that ur wife writing all those comments? haha

  • Hey Andy I remember this storm I lived right down the street at the carol stream apartments.. the weather service dropped the ball on this because people who were out and about saw the funnel this storm was a tornado! microbursts do wide spread damage! not hit and miss damage like this storm did.

  • i worked recovery for this complex that night....i see why you wanted to move out

they found most the roof on north ave.

  • cool video, i dont remember that storm, but on memorial day , like, 5 years ago, 1 of them hit our power box or whatever that connects 2 the powerlines. i was outside, and right when i was by it lightning hit our box, i think, and there was 2 explosions. it scared the crap outta me, and worst, the TV was out so i couldn't watch it wgile i was inside... sorry for the long comment.

  • i saw that! i live right by there i was wondering what happened!
