So, you guys (or gals, as the case may well be) really seemed to like the last chapter. Well, in this chapter (which might last for two parts) you’'ll learn the story behind everything Kate and Kevin have been going through since chapter three.

Chapter Nine: Left Unsaid

Mary POV

{OMG. What just happened? Kevy ran backstage! Eep! But for some reason, he had been staring at...…}

I turned to Kate who sat between me and Soph. She was frozen again. She had something to do with this. Did she stick her tongue out at Kev or something? Sophia was giving her the same confused look, as were a few people near us. Then:

Kate: Give me my pass.
Mary: Bu-
Kate: Give it!
Mary: Okay, okay! Jeez!

I took out the pass and handed it to her. The moment she walked past Soph I gave the teenager her pass and put on my own. She took the hint and followed Kate, with me trailing behind her. Meanwhile on stage, Nick and Joe were calming down the audience.

Nick: That was unexpected…...
Joe: …Uh, this was not planned.
Nick: I’'ll be right back. Meanwhile, Joe can rap for you.
Joe: Wait, what?
Audience: *screams*
Joe: Hmm…... Okay, I’'ve done this on the spot before...… Someone care to give me a topic?

By that time, all three of us girls had gotten to the security guard-OMG! It was Big Rob!- and had shown the passes. He let us pass and we ran back quickly, though Kate ran so fast I thought someone had put a gold medal winner’'s legs on her. Almost immediately I spotted Nick crouched beside Kevin, whose head was in his hands. I heard the last part of their conversation before Kate cut in.

Kevin: I just couldn’'t stay out there. She was staring right at me. The song reminded me of something I did to her I can never get over.
Nick: Man, why didn’'t you say so?
Kevin: I dunno. It almost felt like I needed to remember. It was weir-
Kate: Kevin!

Kevin looked up with those pale blue-green eyes that made your heart melt. He looked surprised, but it was hard to tell beneath the tears he was shedding. I’'d never seen such a pitiful sight.

Kevin POV

{It really is her! I never thought I’'d see those beautiful blue eyes and that long, golden hair again.}

Kevin: Kate!

I shoved myself up and walked slowly towards her, as if it were a dream. I couldn'’t believe I was finally with her again…... She really does look more amazing each time I see her... Once I get to her, the tears are flowing again. I pulled her close into a hug.

{She loves hugs from anyone she knows. I remember that. But I’'m afraid to kiss her. Afraid she'’s still mad.}

As I sobbed quietly on her shoulder, I caught a glimpse of two girls who appeared to be her friends watch with gaping mouths. One even looked hurt.

Kevin: *between sobs* I’'m… so sorry...…
Nick: Care to explain?
