An admirable decision on the mayor's part. As a (straight) Christian, I look forward to the day when we have marriage equality (and equality in every other area as well). Seeing my gay friends made to feel like second-class citizens because of who they love breaks my heart, and I think it breaks Jesus' heart too.

This is truly heartwarming...he wears his heart on his sleeve. As a loving father, Mayor Sanders can see through all the bogus discrimination of gay people and make the right decision. It's all about love...

Your argument is asinine. If God did indeed burn homes in response to support of the gay rights movement, then it means that God either:

1) Is a monster, that will burn innocent people to make a point.

or

2) That God is incapable of distinguishing between the guilty and the innocent.

I think its funny when people try to equate natural disasters with stuff like this, as though its gods punishment...What about Oklahoma and Texas? Both heavily conservative and against gay marriage....Yet they suffered by fires to, and devastating tornadoes quite often....and floods and ice storms, and wind storms....and in Texas, hurricanes.. So couldn't I just as easily be an idiot and associate that with the fact that these states are against gay marriage and being punished for it?
