@tsi2568 Original JKD is itself an art and philosophy that you are describing. jkd concept is what you are describing only. in original you must know the core elements (wing chun fundamentals, boxing fundamentals, and fencing footwork) to call yourself an original jkd martial artist.

@tsi2568 Right, but, none of us, including Dan and Paul, are Bruce Lee. So how can they, especially Dan, take his own ideas and add them to Bruces and call it JKD? JKD was a name given to a mans own path in martial arts and philosophy; Bruce Lees. Bring in your own ideas using what Bruce left, but dont call it JKD or teach it as such. Bruce didnt mean to create an "art", but he did teach very specific movements and ideas.

@tsi2568 you are wrong
@clearcombat JKD has not become a style. However, too many people declared themselves teachers of JKD without the right qulifications. JKD is no style like Don Inosanto or Paul Vunak for example can tell you. But too many people make JKD a style. They fail at understanding the main point of Jeet Kune Do, which is to "not lay down restricting rules", as Bruce Lee put it himself. "JKD isn't JKD". JKD of person A is surely not the JKD of person B. But that's how it has to be. Continuously changing.
