It might be the matter of perspective, or "religion", if you will. The "where on earth do we put it" issue should be preempted by "what the heck do we need it for" common sense question. But if indeed there is a need for a 32' stop, my religion just happens to be an accoustical pipe organ, and not the imitation of thereof. The lights, the monitors, the gadgets, fancy buttons and displays..... - will forever chase the real thing, unsuccesfully! The FINEST builders stay away from those things.
Well, I guess it is a matter of perspective. The last time I checked a full-length, full-compass 32' pedal stop added about $20-$30K to the price of the organ. Then there is the whole "where on earth do we put it" issue. All of that for a stop/rank that is useful in only a relatively few areas. The same amount of money could buy 2 or3 8' stops (or many more higher pitched stops). Sorry, but many of the finest builders do go digital. Take a look sometime.
Sorry, but one CAN'T get the same sound out of the speakers as from the pipes - even for the 32' pitch. It's a substitute, and a poor one. Perhaps some builders do this, but then there are very many that refuse to go this "cheap-er" way.

I wonder, what is the price of a 32' stop (like a bombarde 32',) in figures?

@PipeOrganistSC Probably doesn't look quite just like that organ if it has 3 manuals and only 42 ranks

Our church is down near myrtle beach in Pawleys Island. It has an '86 casavant, 3 manuals 42 ranks that looks just like that console.
