Yes i remember this show as well... I love that Peoria now can get some good bands to come to the riverfront. Thanks Jay Goldberg for showing that central illinois loves its jam bands!!!
the greatest show i've EVER been to right here...i was front and left, double fisting beers and taking hits from a joint...still carry the ticket stub in my wallet!
this show was sick...and at the 1:4? mark I seen my head front row and center. As to the guys w/ the binocs at the beginning. Yall were f'n loaded that night! :D
comparing yonder to traditional bluegrass is like comparing hendrix to old school blues. Sure I could name a ton of technically better pickers but yonder creates a fun factor that draws big crowds. For some they are an entry point into the world of bluegrass, and I these people would have the same respect for the style if it weren't for Yonder. Not to mention they have complete control over their musical destiny, which is what all musicians truly want but rarely get.
skipped this show...and I don't regret it...I used to be a big Yonder fan but that was before I discovered more real bluegrass...Yonder isn't bad but there are a lot better bands and a lot better pickers and singers out there...I was pretty dissapointed last time I saw them but that was right after getting back from merlefest and seeing some of the best in bluegrass
I kick myself for not going. Fucking lame ass friend didn't want to go. Said "why would they want to see them, they've never won a grammy" or some shit... kinda pissed me off. Anyways, she thinks shit like Kid Rock is awesome because quote "he can play the guitar and drums really well". I was like, "so can most musicians, most play more then one!" OH well, she really doesn't know shit about music, but when she badmouths my music I want to slap her. But I'm non-violent, so it's all good.
yeeeeeaaaa!!!!!! this brings back so many good memories i was right by this guy as he was filming it, it was my first yonder show
