Nice effort but it would have sounded so much better if you had checked the guitar tuning carefully beforehand!

Tks.

well done !!

There is also a stroke that is a softer rest stroke, sort of midway between a free stroke... and in the case I think the beginning is too harsh and could use a softer touch at the beginning.
There's a very old Williams record of this piece (along with Lady Hunsdon's Puffe) which I think is the best out there.
A hard piece but it's my fav Dowland.

Beautiful composition by dowland and interpretation by you.
only one thing, at the end you put the dinamics very hard, dont forget, this piece was originally composed for lute, that dindt have the same capacity to generate the volume that the guitar produces.
other than that, just beautiful.
bravo

I love what you are doing with that fantasy!
Very few concentrates on building up to that almost orchestral forte (fortissimo) in the end. The piece is really very dynamic and shows Dowlands mastery of creating dynamic tension and almost orchestral density by means of refined use of rythm - with ony two voices. Bravo .

This is an amazing piece. Currently learning it myself, the F# tuning throws you completely off. I tip my hat to you sir, this is played excellently.

nice... but in my opinion this should be better a little slowler..

It's not Baroque; it's Renaissance.

This piece is particularly complicated, I take my hat off to anyone who can play this piece in its entirity. You are very accomplished to be able to play any sort of baroque music. I wisj I had your ability and musicality, but alas my fingers are unco-ordinated and clumsy.
Absolutely beautiful. What model and make is your guitar? It's got some nice separation. Every note comes through distinctly in the contrapunctal parts. My compliments.

Philomelodia: It's a Manuel Bellido 1996. I think the discant is really awesome on that guitar.
It's not my best guitar, my best is Yngvar Thomassen 2008- Awesome guitar with incredible power.

Hey Johan,
0.44, .56 -.57, 1.10, 1.29 are few of the examples of dissonance due to lack of tuning between the 4th and 1st strings(probably 6th string too) . Listen carefully at 3.53 - 3.56 and 4.04 -4.05 Final chord proves the Es are out.
There may also be some kind of distortion effect in the recording.
Why don't you re-record it, I think you're a competent player, your choice of piece is good. Dowland and Purcell expressed emotion like no other. Looking forward to more videos from you.
