Details below. This is for those interested in Wildlife and Tigers. No, sorry it doesnt actually show the Tigress that charged me!However shows events after the charge-See part 1 for 'before'.Incidentally I dont advise checking out a Tiger kill on foot and alone, as was the case here, unless you know what you are doing and have plenty of experience...If charged stand your ground or back off but never turn and run-then you become prey....This Tigress charged because unknown to me she had a subadult female cub with her-I later saw the tracks .This was all filmed on Boar Riverbed close to Camp Corbett, Kaladhungi, 30 kms from Corbett Park and close to Corbett Museum. Its a great place to stay and although villagers use the Forest by day, the Wildlife is still around.'Sequence of Events'Area, more Tiger scratch marks on tree,Pugmarks of Tigress where she crossed the river, the remains of Buffalo 2 days later, more scratch marks, retracing steps of where I was charged, what was left of Buffalo, where the 2 Tigress's were lying up under the lantana when
I disturbed them.
Thanks for your post. Actually you should look at 'Charged by a Tigress part 1 ' as with that video I go into a lot more detail ....it was a case of me carefully checking out a Tigress's kill (a dead buffalo found and scavenged by the tiger) but then making the basic mistake of thinking the tigress had moved off !Incidentally I have many years experience of exploring tiger habitat and wouldnt advise anyone getting close to any 'big cat' unless one knows how to react in an emwergency..... Charged by a tiger/tigress is something that hardly ever happens!!! Believe me, I've spent time in the wild for long enough to be able to tell u this. Maybe u provoked her or invaded her space in some way - in which case she's got every right to do what u say she did. What I'd ask of u is to be slightly more conscious of what u r doing and whr u r treading as am sure u wldn't want to be disturbed during dinner!!! Cheers and God bless...

It is pretty safe to walk around jungles as long as you know some basic rules(as you say the locals go there every day). As far as checking up on a 'Tiger kill, goes, yes you should be very careful and shouldnt do it unless you have considerable experience with Tigers and the confidence to go with it ! Also you must know how to react in an emergency ....

i find these videos very interesting. Just how dangerous is it to walk about like that? Presumuably the locals are all doing it?
To me actively investigating a tiger kill seems like lunacy,,,
