I know for a fact Julian *HATES* reading the news (hence why another presenter usually reads the news on Friday nights, so quite a surprise to see this, thanks for uploading Stevie!
I honestly can't remember when Julian stopped reading the news; I think he stopped around the time he began doing the Coronation Street links and started to wear bow ties on duty in the early 1990s.

Very weird indeed to see Julian reading the news but I think from what I saw there, he's obviously good and capable enough to present UTV News regularly again. BTW, give or take the odd newsflash during programmes, that's the first bulletin Julian has read for 19 years!
