This video started out as a video to show a decent majority of the movements that can be done 'between the flats'. I then thought to incorporate some of the different ways you could train there as well. Half the aim being to show some of the less experienced, some movements and variations they might not have thought of whilst out training, that they could then maybe think about and attempt. Also showing how you can make simple things difficult just by varying it a bit.

However I soon realised that to show this "decent majority" I would need far more than 90 minutes of footage, something that wasn't going to happen.

I also had V. sore hands after a climbing session the day before restricting a lot of arm jumps, climb ups, etc.

Then my third problem was me. I got far too carried away with training that I forgot all about my aim.

The thing is I treat solo sessions as times to really push myself in movement. This way there is only you and your fears when you're out there and I find you learn a lot more. You discover how to break down these fears and how to forget about them when they are irrational and irrelevant.

So yeah this video has ended up being some sort of hybrid between my first aim and footage of a general training session.

Enjoy, I guess...

  • nice vid mate, wen u next up newcastle ?? never spoke 2 u last time, train hard man x

  • I'll probably get to Carlisle this Easter, so the chances are I'll get across to Newcastle as well but it will be mid week if I do.

  • I've been trying to work this out for ages, then I remembered I saw it here, at around 3:19 how do you combine the two clips?

  • If you use any decent software you can crop a clip... so you basically crop one half (or whatever) off and then lay that clip on top of the other. Simple really.

  • unbeleivable vid wer is it ? ???

  • Two comments up someone asked the same thing!

  • This video gives me a lot of motivation

  • I love destroying my hands with parkour, it's the most satisfying (and painful) result I get immediately after training, second is the good n proper full body ache I get in the morning.

  • do you think you could come to my house and get all the stuff off the roof?

  • Cool video, that's given me a lot of good ideas for how to train at the flats.
