Alberta- Bitumen Extraction Control Suite Design

This control suite design was requested for the second floor of an administration building. It is a folded theater-style control room- a innovation to a traditional flat theater that allows the wings to be closer to the centrally-located supervisor on an elevated podium. Designed to allow a second phase expansion to be incorporated, it separates, yet allows collaboration with, a mine site control area from the balance of the control room. Training areas, conference areas, and DCS rack rooms are in close proximity.
