The foundation ring is riveted back into the boiler of 5637 as part of the major overhaul. The rivet is initially heated using an oxy-propane torch. The rivet is then picked out of the hearth using the tongues and is banged to remove the scale. Once in the hole, the rivet is backed up with one rivet gun while the head is formed on the other end with another gun. We actually drilled all the old rivets out and the correct size holes our self and a few other members of the team not shown in this vid
