Originali uploaded by "y45har":

Protests continue in the pitch dark after being suppressed (officially: subsided) on the streets. It was not as furious as last night. The news of the tragic death of another teenager (19 year old Sohrab Aarabi) whose mother was waiting for his release in front of the infamous Evin prison, made last night more emotional. Ironically his mother was a peace activist. Although officials let his family hold a funeral, controversies over the time and whereabouts of his death are still circulating. He was missing since nearly a month ago.

My fellow Iranians who expressed their unease about chanting Allah u akbar in the previous video I posted, should note that this Allah u akbar is quite different from that of Taliban or even Khomeini. Mousavi (The real president or the apposition leader or the defeated candidate or whatever you want to call him) is accused of being the poppet of the global imperialism as it is. The subtlety of this move needs a little bit more attention. The supporters of all the other defeated candidates be it religious or not have agreed to use the same slogan in a demonstration of solidarity. You might call me a hypocrite, fighting theocracy using a religious slogan, but it is a given that majority of Iranian people are religious, so are all the candidates. Secularism in Iranian political discourse is still construed as an insult. The first and foremost demand of the majority of Iranian people is to challenge the legitimacy of this government and from what I sense from the political climate, its not going to be easy by any stretch.

This time I got a better cam and didnt quite get the paper to prove the date. But take it from me its Monday, July 13, 2009 about 22:00 local time. The internet connection is not helping either and uploading through proxy is causing problems. Managed to get it uploaded after four laborious attempts. With all the communication problems and censorship, my pals say we should start learning how to use Indian smoke signals.

Thanks for all the support from all around the world, especially my fellow Iranians.

  • peive17, thank you for your kind words.

it is true. in medival spain, jews fled from the christian side to the muslim side, beacuse they were treated much much better there. in morroco, iraq and of course - persia jews lived in peace holding goverment positions.

i post these videos on facebook. don't know what else can i do to help.

be strong and brave and change will come. i must come.

  • beautiful sentiments, so very nice of you to leave these comments for the Iranians.

  • Viva Brave Iranians, Freedom is coming to you

  • I had the great honor of living in your country during the last revolution. Although these are the same words, the sound and spirit is quite different.

In 78-79 there was a dark spirit to the chants. The mood was dark and oppressive. The voices were 99.5% male, now it's male and female, young and old.

To me, these voices sound beautiful. They are cries for freedom.

Regardless of what some people say, the 79 revolution was motivated by EVIL, from the start.. FREEDOM WAS THE ENEMY!

  • Thank you for the explanation at the right. Yes, many people are uncomfortable with these chants and if such chants show desire to trade one theocratic regime for another. But your explanation helps. Love & blessing to Iranians for freedom.

  • ALLAH AKBAR
