@ResoImages thanks but i know VCP, everyone that wants to seriously start with VFX has to know that site. Kramer's the beast :D

it might work if it were a super close up shot at 4k res, but as it is the prob doesn't have enough pixels for it to work effectively. And also take into consideration the amount of motion blur when swinging it around actually fighting with it - it's a nice thought, but sadly rarely possible :(

videocopilot . net incase you didn't know (website without the spaces wither side of the ".")

@ResoImages thanks dude, checking it out now!
I'm having trouble properly following my lightsaber in each frame as Motion tries to "correct the positioning" by using a snap to grid feature. Is there a way to move my points more freely?
Thankyou!

@Alahkazam
go to the "view" tab at the top of the screen, about halfway down there is the "snap" option. make sure it is not checked.

thats really good, i'm working on the same thing in my video production class, mine doesnt look as good as yours, i just needed to know how to make it look more like its glowing, thanks for your help! =)

@AGCdrummer to make it look like it is glowing more simply duplicate the mask layer by clicking on a layer and pressing command "d"
i usually use 3-4 layers
then adjust the gaussian blur levels
the first on 4, the second between 4-10, the third between 30-40
that should take care of it!
