26 years later...
"The film's director, Robert S. Fiveson, has accused the 2005 Michael Bay movie The Island of being a Clonus ripoff, and along with producer Myrl Schreibman, eventually sued for plagiarism. He ended up settling out of court for an undisclosed amount." -MST3K Wiki

I liked this movie, I could watch it on its own, it was slow but it has that Corman B-Movie charm (not that I LIKE Corman, but he chooses interesting scripts). The ending was almost effectively tragic, it's not like there's no movie here, or like it's batshit insane like Red Zone Cuba, THAT was painful. I'd put this in the same bracket and even style as Overdrawn At The Memory Bank, hilariously poorly done but effective as intended.

There's an obvious "Michael Bay is a hack" joke, but there old hat by now.
Personally, the basic story isn't bad. A research facility that clones people for spare parts. It offers a moral and ethical dilemma about the rights of a clone. This is just another case of an interesting idea poorly executed.

@ninjawraith17 Why would ANYONE want to plagarize Clonus??? :-D

I'd like to have that raucous piece that wakes up the "Star Kids" at the end--perfect ring tone!

Horrible move, but one of the best riffings, and best ending credits

Was Peter Graves always 80 years old?

@SpiderxBlue You know, I actually think this is BETTER than "The Island." At least this isn't directed by Bay.
Sad thing is, this actually has a pretty good concept and plot. It's just a shame that the execution was so badly botched.

Y'know, any ending would make me happier than I've ever been.

Huge lamps of the 70s, tonight on Biography.
Red Zone Cuba is the worst film aired, they couldn't even save it, it's the only episode I had trouble finishing.
