I mentioned my old band, AfterTaste, in one of my previous videos, and numerous people asked in the comments section to hear a song or two. So I worked with Hank on updating one of my old songs, "The Wind". Hank, thank you so much for breathing new life into this old song!
Darryl and I recorded over 70 original songs together as AfterTaste. We were a two-man band. "The Wind" was one of the last songs we worked on before Darryl moved to California to open his own studio. For the last seven plus years I've only had a rough demo recording (linked above) of the song, as we never had a chance to finish or record it properly.
Thanks for listening!
Lyrics:
She saw him coming over with a rush of adrenaline
Running so fast didn't quite know why
Closer now emotions started overflowin'
Memories blow in and cloud her mind
The wind grabbed and pushed and pulled her
The wind took her by surprise
The wind was as fast as she was
The wind made her want to fly
A few feet left to close the gap that was between them
Wondering now is he friend or foe
Starring at him questions start to overwhelm her
She can't figure out if she should go
The wind grabbed and pushed and pulled her
The wind took her by surprise
The wind was as fast as she was
The wind made her want to fly
He was the only one, to whom she would give her heart
He was the only one, that could make the fire start
Then he left on the winds of change
She had no more choices than these:
To live with the pain, or the possibilities.
She turned away so he couldn't see the hint of a smile
The smile that betrayed her change of heart
She felt a stirring deep inside that was more than a feeling
The look on his face was the best part
The wind grabbed and pushed and pulled her
The wind took her by surprise
The wind was as fast as she was
The wind made her say 'goodbye'.
PS. Yes, this was also uploaded to my personal channel, but there is very little subscriber over lap and I wanted everyone there to see it as well. =)
