Um yeah, for me, this game's attempts at making sense of the confusing time travel elements in CT have so far only made them even more confusing.

@dragonstormx I see it this way: CT affects time, CC explores the fallout from CT along a dimensional axis. If Time were the Y axis, CC's dimension jumping would be the X axis. It isn't a direct sequel, but it's still a sequel. Whether you like it or not is up to you.

But it has so little to do with Chrono Trigger than it might as well be set in a different universe. The only connections we get a few references that could easily be edited out of the script, the game jumps the shark by throwing in an extremely preachy and badly done environmental message, and it kills off characters from Chrono Trigger for no other reason than shock deaths.
