DIY: How To Make Homemade Deodorant

HOMEMADE DEODORANT - It feels GREAT to be Aluminum FREE!!! I have been using homemade deodorant for almost a year and it works WONDERFULLY! There are a few recipes where some people use 1/4 cup of baking soda to match the 1/4 cup of cornstarch. My skin is very sensitive to baking soda b/c it can be abrasive so I reduced the amount and it works fine for me. There is no right or wrong way to make this. It's based on your personal preference. As far as shelf life, tea tree oil is an antibacterial and vitamin E is a natural preservative so my guess would be a few months. The ingredients and measurements are as follows:

1 ounce of pure cocoa butter (I got from CVS for $1)
1/4 cup of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of baking soda
5 drops of tea tree oil
5 drops of lavender essential oil
1 drop of pure vitamin E oil
3/4 teaspoon of sea fresh fragrance oil

The average cost of making my own deodorant, which is FREE of harsh chemicals is around $1.50, NOT BAD!

i was just wondering when making the deodorant, if large batches could be stored in the freezer for a longer period of time or if it is best to make them as you need them...thanks!!

@neshielin You can definitely store them. I usually keep mine in the fridge for months at a time. I have never freezed any.
