  • @24michiganironbrigad At the end of Rule Britannia, I hear only 4 more notes on the fifes - the band continues with a drum march. If your ears are better than mine, and they begin playing a German tune, no surprise. A lot of German tunes came over with the Hanoverians. When Hanover became a kingdom in 1814 ,George III became King of Hanover as well as King of the United Kingdom. The "King's German Legion" fought in the Revolutionary War, as well as in Spain during the Napoleonic War.

  • @lauwai4life They end Rule Britannia right then and start with the Prussian March. :D

  • @24michiganironbrigad: It's "Rule Britannia".

  • @lauwai4life I am talking about the Fife and Drum march they start playing at 1:56, It sounds identical to the opening of the Hohenfreidberger March.

  • @24michiganironbrigad: If you're referring to the first music, it's not Prussian and not a march; it's Russian -- Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. If you're referring to the second piece, it's not a march, but it is German -- Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries (Ritt der Walküren) from the opera Die Walküre. As a march, the Ride of the Valkyries has been the official march of the British Parachute Regiment since it's formation during WWII

  • Why were they playing a Prussian March?

  • Hey I love the video I remember when we went it was fun that day. I like learning about 1812. I hope we go again this year the music fit perfectly too.

  • You could almost believe it was 1812 again. Great video!
