  • well, we were stoned at the time!!! glad you vomited. shows taste!!!

  • This is awesome. I did notice that the kick off is MUCH slower than the rythem section started playing!

  • Woody had given up on keeping the tempo down after his countoff as there was competition between various Herds over the years as to which band could play Caldonia the fastest. In my time with the band (1/79-5/80), we hit 6.2 seconds a chorus in the Spring of 1980 with Jeff Hirshfield on drums.

  • Positively INSANE tempo! Bob, I love your little anecdote about how Woody just gave up on trying to keep a lid on the tempo after awhile. At 6.2 seconds a chorus, it makes me wonder if that's the fastest the band ever got with it!

Oh, and I love Dave LaLama's solo as he drags it down into the realm of mere mortals just long enough for the listener to find their feet and then the bass player picks up the baton and just goes running!

  • @buildelectriccarsnow Relax Former Drummer. They are just having fun. I'm guessing you never made a tempo this fast. Vomit on Old Dude!

  • What a band!!!

  • Re: TEMPO !!! The *all important tempo* !

As a former drummer, and later a cosen favourite dancing partner -

this really turns me off. No feel whatsoever. No point at all.

You'd have to be stoned to appreciate such noise.

Sorry, but this kind of abuse really makes me vomit.

  • this song i beileve was made by louis jordan in i think 1945>>>

  • clearly Smulyan bro, wouldn't even have to watch the video. If you listen it's clearly his playing. Ohh yeah and at 3:02, Woody announces his name, doofus.

  • WOW! nice ballad. LOL

  • Cool!

    :)

  • Nick Brignola -- not Gary Smulyan -- on the baritone saxophone.
