@bmx65 With this style of thinking, the M40A1 is fairly a new weapon system developed in 1966,, and it is. The USMC found that the original wood stock was inadequate and needed something better. In 1973 McMillan Brothers came on the seen and was contracted to build the first polymer stock for the M40 weapon system. McMillian has been building the stocks for the M40 ever since.
@Oxstayne Yeah if you throw the word Century in there it seems long and I hate when people use that phrase. I could say "I'm a quarter of a century old!" Yeah well Im still only 25 years old.
Ok guys--I'm willing to sacrafice some time and energy to give Mcmillan a good quality review here on youtube. I will also do extensive field testing and expose the equipment to adverse field conditions. All for free of charge! Just send me a "sample"....Ok--PLEASE?? PM me if your interested...LOL
@shadowblack1987 Very ugly? I'm thinking--Very SEXY! Its all about function and accuracy, while minimizing weight without compromising strength. Yep--thats Mcmillan!
Lots of firearm manufacturers have been around longer, but you're comparing apples and oranges. These are custom built rifles with very tight tolerances using high quality materials expertly machined. Colt's lack of innovation disappoints me honestly, but they have huge military contracts for what they're producing and I suppose have no incentive to evolve as long as they're getting paid.
