The ending was perfect, in my opinion. I enjoyed the whole movie in general.

hi , im an iranian and i wanted to thank you for watching and reviewing it , wanted to tell you that ending is somehow open as some critic says you can imagine if the girl chooses her father or mother based on their action on that period of time , anyway thanx again and wish you all the best ;)

i imagine it is so difficult to follow the story and actually understand it by only relying on the subtitle and this was not a very simple movie. however actors perform in a really awesome manner that u would get the idea even from the expressions on their faces. maybe thats why u said some parts were not easy to understand :) by the way u pronunciation had no problems (y)

@boxxcatgirl I agree. I didn't understand the money part first time I watched it, it's confusing for sure. but then the second time I got it.

i totally agree with most of you said, but i think not resolving it at the end, makes it so much better. i'd give it A+ though. you did a great job at reviewing it and pronounced the names perfectly. you're right, the performances are amazing. iran has such incredibly good actors and film makers.

This was not a romantic comedy which resolves everything with an end-of-movie speech. This was hands-down the best movie ever made by mankind.

Well done, very good review indeed.

This is not a feel-good movie, rather a sort of modern version of neo-realism which in nature does not necessarily follow the usual Hollywood format -- i.e. intro-develpment-climax-conclu
tion! Such films due to their linear plots and natural simplicity ( for lack of happy endings or plot twists) are not well received, or rather understood, in North America! Yet, they're seen as gems by film buffs for their editting style, sence of space, decoupage, mise en scene and natural sounding soundtrack! -
1st u're beautiful, 2nd great review, 3rd the last part of the movie its not really a missing plot, its a modern technique in which the director allows the audience to decide by themselves however they'd like the movie to be ended(happy/tragic) .
thanks

The reason he left the ending like that is because if he would have ended it in the favor of the guy, he would have lost his female audience, and if he would have ended it in the favor of the woman, he would have lost the female audience. by leaving it, he manages to hold on to everyone and have'em long for more.
by the way, you pronounced the names perfect! usually people pronounce the names horribly or don't even attempt to say. Great job;)

First of all thanks for the review , but explain a little more, what do u mean by plot holes? in my opinion as a Persian myself, actually there are not any holes, maybe u didn't get the plot well enough, there is no unsolved issues , it's hidden in film's layers, but your feeling about the ending is exactly right, because that's what the director wants, he doesn't want to show the last judgement, it's up to the audience! : )

@behdabra hm, I suppose you're right. Since I filmed this literally right after coming home from the movie theater, I don't think I had enough time to process exactly what I saw. The main plot hole that I was referring to was the one about the money, but upon a little big of contemplation, I got it :) Its complexity was pretty great.

@behdabra sorryy I had to delete your comment explaining the money, I just didn't want to potentially spoil the film for any viewers. Thanks though :)
