I watched it last night with my brother, and here's my $.02: (a.) It moves WAY too fast (b.) It's gorgeously created with amazing props, sets & costumes! (c.) It crams far too much history in too small a time (d.) It just plain feels like a propaganda film that is obviously approved by the state. (e.) It worships certain characters like they were gods and others like they were caricatures (I.E. all of the Anglos, even the ones in favor of the revolution). All and all, we were disappointed. :-/

@scubamedic1 lol retard alert. This movie is about the Nationalist in China taking over in place of the Qing Dynasty NOT the communist revolution almost 40 years later. IE the Government that Chaing Kai-shek, enemy of the communists, would one day lead. This movie is as much propaganda as Saving Private Ryan, Flags of our Fathers, or Schindler's List.

A non-world war 2 war movie? Instant see.

@1030efan sorry there were a few typo
@scubamedic1 1. All historical movies are not based entirely on fact. 2. In order for it to be propaganda it must fly in the face of fact, which this move does not. 3. No one in Communist China would make a propaganda film about this topic because this revolution sets up the government the Communists fight AGAINST to take over.
4. You are a closed minded idiot. 5. Jackie Chan > you. 6. I wanted 1 more number to fill out the character limit. 7. Is a better number to end on so eat dick!

@ccc247 You obviously haven't watched New Policy Story, The Forbidden Kingdom, Shinjuku Incident, or Shaolin. In other words, you only watch his American films.
