Resto Cafe Bellini a classic tradition of Italian culture. Besides having the best espresso in the west island Bellini's menu takes its cue from Italian cuisine with the freshest of ingredients, simply prepared. From home-style pastas to hands-down the best paninis ever, you can enjoy a great meal.
Resto Cafe Bellini introduces the cicchetti, (pronounced chi-KET-tee) or aka Tapas, experience to the west island, a theme replica of famous Venetian Bars. Venice has a wonderful tradition of local appetizers that line the counters of little pubs all over town at the end of each workday. Displayed as appetizing morsels on toothpicks, and washing it all down with little glasses of wine.
Come to Bellini's to experience this unique Italian cuisine or the adventure of the different and tasty Cicchetti's while enjoying a Bellini cocktail or a nice glass of your favourite wine, or simply a desert with homemade Gelato and cold espresso.
The Bellini was invented sometime between 1934 and 1948 by Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry's Bar in Venice, Italy. Because of its unique pink color, which reminded Cipriani of the color of the toga of a saint in a painting by 15th-century Venetian artist Giovanni Bellini, he named the drink the Bellini.
The drink started as a seasonal specialty at Harry's Bar, a favourite haunt of Ernest Hemingway, Sinclair Lewis and Orson Welles. Later, it also became popular at the bar's New York counterpart. After an entrepreneurial Frenchman set up a business to ship fresh white peach pureé to both locations, it was a year-round favorite.
