When I first came to Hong Kong... it was actually 40 years ago. The thing I love about Hong Kong is the energy, the 'can-do' spirit that people have here. Twenty-six years ago, Hong Kong was a very different place - it was very colonial. So I thought to myself, "Why not start an area like Lan Kwai Fong, where international people can really have a chance to meet locals. Everyone can kind of assimilate in one area." When I was first appointed the chairman of Ocean Park, I realised I knew nothing about theme park business. But I realised it's a theme park, and theme parks are all about fantasy - but fun. We've gone from strength to strength every year because we present the park in an environmentally-friendly atmosphere. And the service we provide to all of our guests, I think, is second to none; it's part of the Hong Kong spirit.
