The Battle Rifle Mystery?:

What you see in this video is counter-intuitive. First we stood all the way across an Empty Foundry and lined up the reticle barely touching the opponent when un-zoomed. After two full clips, as you can see, not a single shot hit. When we zoomed in and fired, shots would hit occasionally (despite the fact that the aiming reticle was now not touching the enemy at all). This, for one, does show that the Battle Rifle has a random spray.

When we move to halfway across Foundry (just outside the spot where the aiming reticle goes red when un-zoomed), the OPPOSITE happens. When we are un-zoomed, the shots hit and when we zoom they do not hit at all. While we have theorized about what happens, no one came to any definitive conclusion. We leave this one open to you: help us figure out the nature of the Battle Rifle's random spray.

once you get closer you're hitting more shots because the BR is getting some mag help, like auto-magnetism kicks in because the game believes you're aiming well enough to deserve to land a few shots. when you're zoomed, you're clearly missing, so mag is gone and you land nothing because the spray isn't enough (without mag) to hit the guy.

the bullets bonce off the back of the wall like a sniper.

it hit somtimes because the recoil from the last shot was higher and the bullet hit the gun on his back
