@SamFem The people portrayed in this drama were from Manchester in Northwest England (with the exception of Ian Brady who was (is) Scottish.) How would you have them speak? The story was intentionally told from Maureen and David Smith's point of view. It's a compelling drama from a different perspective. As someone has already said to you, do some research. You can't criticise it, you don't know enough about it.

@SamFem First of all, to be fair to you, there is a fair bit of this missing between part one and part two. It jumps from Maureen (that's her name), Myra's sister visiting the workplace of Myra and Ian to an interview at the Kilbride's home about the missing John. Much of the vital background and scene setting information is lost. However, I must say that your constant criticism of the accents, acting, and even (in some of your posts) teeth is neither relevant or accurate.

Sick, evil bitch. All she ever thought about was herself even until the day that she died! Rot in pieces you evil cunt!!

The crimes were committed in Manchester, so regional accents are necessary - apart from Brady who was from Glasgow, Scotland.
Surely it is possible to watch a film all the way through and work out who everyone is and what is happening? The police investigation is running simultaneously with what is happening to the main characters.
I think people are forgetting that this happened in the early 1960s and the Police Force was a completely different organisation in those days.
Really how evil can you be

@SamFem Just shows how ignorant american viewers can be - just because you can't be bothered to understand a northern english accent doesn't mean it's bad, just that you're unaware of the world beyond the US
