George Merrill, Boy Meets Girl, at the 29th Annual West Coast Songwriters

GEORGE MERRILL - a member of Boy Meets Girl, a band consisting of Merrill as a vocalist/keyboardist and singer Shannon Rubicam. They are known for their hit song Waiting For A Star To Fall. Merrill and his co-writer Shannon Rubicam, wrote a number of songs for other artists. Most famous are their two number one hits written for Whitney Houston, I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) and How Will I Know. They also wrote the songs Dont Tell Me We Have Nothing and Haunting Me for Deniece Williams and the song I Know You By Heart, performed by Bette Midler on the Beaches soundtrack. The duo also performed backing vocals on Deniece Williams number one hit, Lets Hear It For The Boy. George Merrill also sang backing vocals on Bette Midlers Some Peoples Lives album.

Whenever I watch the video 'waiting for a star to fall', it takes me back to when I was in my 20's. When I wished that I was the girl in the video that the boy was in love with, and that whenever I hear this song, it takes me back to that time...and I still wish I was the girl that the boy in the video was in love with...sigh...
