I HAVE BEEN WEARING MY BRACES SINCE oct.2009 or something & supposeovly i take them off on oct. 2012 MY BROTHER HAD RETAINERS & SAYS U HVE TO WEAR THEM FOR A LONG TIME. I DONT BELIEVE HIM! ANYWAYS SO HOW LONG DO U HAVE TO WEAR RETAINERS IF U HAVE AN OVERBITE & HAD/HAS BRACES FOR 2 & A HALF YEARS. PLEASE HELP IM THINKING OF TAKING THEM OFF IN aug or june 2012 BEFORE MY SISTERS WEDDING SO I NEED FEEDBACK ASAP!!! I NEED HELP UR MY ONLY HELP THAT I BELIVE IN:)

@VideoCamToGo2 My orthodontist had me wearing my clear ones all day and night for 6 months...except when I ate and stuff....after about 6 months he said i could wear them only at night...i still kinda wear them during the day but its up to you!

Do they give you a choice to have the clear ones or the wired ones? Cuz I want the clear ones and I hope they give me a choice! D:

@gunit6781 im sure you can request clear...he gave me the option but I had to pay 300 for the clear...the wire came with my package

i got my braces off today! they gave me a clear retainer in 25 minutes. i have to wear the clear one for 6 weeks. will i eventually get a metal retainer at my next appointment?

@BashfullDuckie thats awesome congrats!!!!!!!! Maybe...you will have to ask your ortho I know that I had to pay extra for the clear
