@jwh1999 The government would only screw it up. Better to rely on the free market.

BLECH!!! Horrible candy bar but interesting commercial.

OMG my miind just had a flashback of me in my grandmothers living room watching this commercial.....I totally forgot about this....lol. The good ole 80's ...some of the best times of my life...everybody was so carefree and happy then.

@jwh1999 There was nothing like the 80's...<3

@NathanMosaic I must disagree. As a child I was hooked on that bar...so luscious and exotic. I really miss it. <3

@rkmugen I've tried them all...none of the other white chocolates compare to Nestle's...even the white chocolate chips aren't quite the same anymore. The original bar had a character that was indulgent and pure.
I think McDonald's apple pies have been tampered with too...when I was a kid they tasted flaky and plump and cinnamony...almost homemade. Now they are thin with a more freeze-dried flavor.

It's so easy to make/replicate.
Just get some thin, sliced almonds and toast them up in a pan or in a preheated oven for a few minutes, pound them up into even smaller bits with either the back of a small pan or just use a chef's knife.
Then, get some Nestle Tollhouse White Chocolate morsels, melt it down, and mix in the almond pieces. Or substitute with a higher quality white chocolate bar from either "Perugina" (Italy), "Green & Black's" (UK), or even "Ghirardelli" (San Francisco, USA).
Now this is old school!
I'm not a fan of white chocolate, but I begged my mom for a dollar to get this. I saw the commercial & thought it was going to take me into the mountains, have me runnin' with the horses, skiing on the freshest powder ever, and carousing with white women all to the musical stylings of some Richard Marx wannabe. But alas, all that dollar got me was an overly-hyped candy bar...and a commercial jingle stuck in my head 20 years later.

I kept getting parts of this song stuck in my head since I was like 7. I remember a commecial with candy and horses. Thanks for clearing things up, as this was the commercial that would randomly pop in my head for 21 years. We need more dramatic commercials like this. Fantastic!
