  • Damens, the power supply will cope easy as the regulators have a wide range of operation. This acrylic plattered version of Salvation is an older incarnation, the metal 14" platter being the latest developement. Plenty of torque with larger circumference & much smaller idler. You are right on the LadyDays & passive pre!

  • Not much.....made it myself........

  • Is this LG TV?

    Are you kidding?

Don't you have enough money for normal brand?

  • @Supergeroi

Of course, you are right. I never realised at the time of purchase the LG would have such a detrimental effect on the sound. It has something to do with the type of glass they use & lack of damping which apparently creates an out of phase anomaly with reflected sound. Next time I will get a Samsung!

  • Tend to agree with Teendude16. The sound seems as brash as the finish, though it does look like an impressive sci-fi Schwartzanegger film prop. I think the overall effect would probably grate after a few albums. it needs to have a smoother more emotional sound - change of carrtridge essential!

  • Of course what your hearing on You Tube sounds harsh....its totally digitised & picked up from a tiny piezo microphone in the cam-corder. Do you think that represents anything like what it really sounds like?I think you kids ought to stick with your MP3 players & leave vinyl to the old boys.

  • The construction principles of this turntable really make sense to me - the way its driven as well as picking up the sound from the grooves in the same way records are cut. I'd love to get one but I wonder how much that would be to have it shipped to Germany.

  • Ill throw my bevvy of Dacs and cd player in the bin and buy one of these.

  • Wonderful - and absolutely insanely crazy. I had always wondered what it would look like to have an idler turned inside out. Looks like my dreams of a Garrard 701 from which I always awoke whispering "Build it and they will Come". You just made Linn's hate list. Does the motor itself have plenty of torque like an idler ? Would the 230v version be able to cope with Australia's 240v ? Think I saw some DIYHiFi stuff in this and the other video too, LadyDays and a Transformer preamp ?

  • It looks like a partner for a lonely Friday night!...lol...Ridiculous and Pretentious.

  • Wow, that TT is gorgeous! The sound is great but that was to be expected. Congrats! If you don't mind me asking what did that run you?

  • @TransFiAudio I'm amazed that it was even necessary to explain this LOL. I've seen some dumb things in my time but people criticising the sound quality of something on the basis of a YouTube video is pretty 'special'. :-D

  • Hi, just wondering what is the name of that weight you put on top of the vinyl so it wont move?
