This is a compilation of fixed gear toe straps that I put together. So far, I've only been able to unearth 19 brands of pedal straps. I know that there are more, as they are easy to make. These are the primary brands that I've found:

Burro
Hold Fast

and a few others

These pedal straps work way better than traditional track cages. You can get a solid up stroke when pedaling. That means that your quads don't get baked on long and fast rides. That also means that you save your legs when climbing hills.

Trust me. When you are riding rollers for 40 miles on a 48t front chain ring, that last thing you want to be doing is mashing the hell out of a single set of muscles. What's more, traditional cages were designed for the velodrome. Notice how track bike riders on the velodrome cinch down their straps so that they can't get their shoe out unless they reach down and loosen them with their hands.

Most people that ride fixed gear bikes in the street use them because they are part of the style. Their functionality pales in comparison to a fixed gear pedal strap like the Burro or the Hold Fast, for example.

Overall any of the 19 brands of fixed gear pedal straps in this video will make skidding so much easier. You won't have to rest your crotch on your stem to skid. You can just chill in your seat and use the straps to help you slow down super fast. Ever see how really good riders are able to skid in a short and quick manner without leaning super forward? These will help you get there.
