  • perfect!

  • @Blanche2916 (Part 2 of 2)... to continue ... She shows us how to get closer to Jesus, and reminds us that we must follow His teachings. The point of the post was to help kiwi2009 notice that Jesus did act on what she had hinted, (notice she didn't tell Him what to do or how to do it, she merely stated a fact) BUT obviously the servants (us) had to do whatever He told them before He could "provide the wine."

  • @Blanche2916 Hi, Blanche... took me forever to find this thread/comment. Sorry! Yes, that's exactly what she (Mary) ALWAYS tells us, "Do whatever He tells you" and that's why we don't go wrong when we pray for her help or meditate on her life events, as we do when we pray the Rosary. She shows us how to get closer to Jesus, and reminds us that we must follow His teachings. (Part 1 of 2)

  • @Blanche2916 I agree. That was my point. That we are NOT saved by faith alone as Protestants believe. We have to have works of charity (that is part of practicing faith). I'm Catholic and I know who wrote the Bible. I'm confused as to what I commented that would imply I didn't know who wrote the Bible or that I think that being a "Christian" in name only is enough. Just to be clear, my first post was directed toward someone who was implying that Heaven is achieved by faith alone.

  • @fiorella1021 Means we are to listen to the teachings of Jesus.

  • @TonesaandJason

Christian in Name Only [CINO] does NOT do it. We have to be practicing our Catholic Faith.

  • @TonesaandJason

    Catholics wrote the BIBLE

  • Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. From the Memorarae.

  • @pianissimo5 I also don't think I said anything about dwelling or worrying about what's going to happen to my soul when I die. And to address your last point... Jesus isn't "supposedly" sinless. He WAS 100% sinless. His anger in the temple was righteous. Righteous anger is NOT sinful. I can't figure out whether you are a Christian or athiest by your comments... That last one confused me... Anyway, in my first comment I was trying to shed a little light on faith alone vs works...

  • @pianissimo5 My faith is not solely based on the Bible... there's tradition and the Catholic Church's authority, given by Jesus, to teach without error about salvation. There's LOTS of things I don't know. Exactly where did I say that I do know everything? What I do know is that there is NOTHING in Catholic doctrine that contradicts the Bible. Maybe other people misinterpret Scripture. I do know that we are not saved by faith ALONE. One prayer and you're "saved"... um, NOT.
