I'll bet he gets 10lbs of pellets out of 10lbs of leaves... he isn't burning them, just compressing them.
I wonder how they burn compared to wood pellets...
-
do you add anything to the leaves or sawdust to hold it together?

@skyypilot01 I have used this kind of pellet before, mind you my stove is Ten Years Old, but they would not burn at all, they char but not much flame... was it my stove or not? unsure I am...

@TRAINNV a hammer mill is used to grind them down to that size I think.

first grind the leaves? ... ummmmm how do you get the leaves as fine as she had them. My mower doesnt make them like that. Looks like she used her kitchen blender

How much leaves do I need to make how much pellets to heat a 3 bedroom home? Would a small yard of leaves and lawn clippings for that matter, for example, produce enough pellets during the spring summer and fall to last all winter or do I need to start doing the neighbors yards too?

Love the video. How long does one bucket of the leaf pellets last you? Do you get a days worth of heat out of it? Where did you get the pellet machine? Thanks.

@skyypilot01 I've read 60-90% of the energy value of the tree species from which the leaves are derived.

Plz. mention Calorific value of leaf pellets.
I am manufacturer of pellet stoves (residential and commercial) in india and sold nearly 2,00,000 stoves till date. And have a Patent. The pellets which I supply are made from agricultural waste such as bagasse, rice husk, etc....
Please brief me do u use any binder in this process and how efficient are these pellets compare to the pellets i make.

@atvaddict well in terms of how long you ran that 3hp motor,well i usually can cut my yard with my push mower with a standard small tank and if she actually can heat her home several hours because of a small amount of fuel, then compare how long that gas would burn up compared to the pelleted fuel.both are a form of stored energy,chemical energy can be burnt a lot faster than solids.then also look at the national average on kw per hour on electric and this should help to figure out
how well do these burn compared to wood pellets??

@skyypilot01
They burn very hot and well. They can leave a bit more ash than wood pellets so we recommend they for multi use stoves.

@makepellets Think about it: there are tons of leaves in our cities. People think: leaves are just some kind of rubbish junk... must be removed from the cities. It needs some much money. And when the winter comes, we need so much money to stoke our homes. Money, leaves, trees, timber...
BUT.
Pellet is a way to:
- protect the woods
- help to remove the leaves from the cities
- do some profit
+++
SO: go go pelletes and rule the world :))
