Check out who has been crowned Miss Malaysia Universe 2009 at the gala themed "Celebrating 45 Years of Beauty...A New Chapter Begins" in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday. Seven other titles were up for grabs besides the top three beauty queens.

if i am not wrong, if u look at 2:10, the 2nd gal from left & 2nd gal from right are not chinese, i.e. either Indian/punjabi or eurasian. No Malay gals are allowed cos Malays are Muslim and they are banned from wearing bikini and exposing themselves to public. and the shariah court will consider this "haram"(illegal/unlawful).

erm no wonder la malaysia didn't even make it on the top15 in miss universe...

i mean there is a lot of pretty and smart malaysian girls out there..and what is more important, they could speak proper english and can answer the MU's interview question better compared to what malaysia have sent past years...so repulsive..its the truth what i'm saying..

Ops! And not forgetting Deborah, and Elaine Daly. However, Elaine Daly's case at Ms. Universe Pageant, I was actually shocked to find out that she didn't qualify for the semifinals.

Lina, Ariana and Deborah, they all did well at Miss World pageants but comparing Miss Universe and Miss World, I'd say we should start concentrating at MU instead of MW. MW pageants these days are so... erm... how should I put it eh... "TAH PA PER JER!" Anyways, just my 2cents.

I believe it does not really matter whether its an Indian or Chinese gal that grabs the top spot thus be sent to represent Malaysia at the MU pageant. What counts is that we send someone with exotic look, instead of 'typical' look. And on top of that, we should send reps who can converse and communicate well in English, not Manglish. Am no racist too, but IMHO for as long as the judges keeps choosing the wrong type of gal, we can only dream of repeating what Lina Teoh and Ariana Teoh did.
