Let's Play Ultimate SMB3 (46)

At last, we've made it to World 8! Yes! You know, of all the final worlds in all the Mario games, SMB3's World 8 has always seemed the most epic to me... I mean, it seriously looks like you're in Hell. Also, it gives you the impression that you are facing off against a serious enemy, with massive armies at his disposal, not just some wacky despot King of Nothing in a little castle.

Be sure to look for the MASSIVE FAIL. You really can't miss it, since I talk about it for like 1/3 of the video.

Apparently I had turned audio off in my emulator, so there's no game sound. I apologize. :( I mixed in some music to make up for it. It's not too bad, but I'll always be one of those LPers who insists upon including actual game audio... it just enhances the experience, I think...

Anyway, thanks for sticking with me on this adventure! And this description was way too long.

I hate being one of those generic "ask what the song was that was playing"-type commentators, but I know I've heard the song in the second half of the video before and I can't remember where.

Glad you asked! The music I mixed in was by Michael Walthius, from the album Dreaming in Stereo. The song played during the first half of the video is called Machine, and the second song is called Echoes. I am guessing that this is the one you recognized, as it was "popular on the internet" back when the web was still young.
