As a matter of fact Mariah is a "coloratura soprano", the highest female voice while Leona is a "lyric soprano". Now Mariah's range is incredibly large, hence her sonorous low register. About high notes and whistle register in particular, Mariah's been hitting notes for over 20 years I don't think Leona ever could.

I love Leona but what the heck is she singing?? She change that song so much! I don't understand why these singers are so desperate to sound original when they sing other peoples songs, that they destroy the original! If you wanna sound original write your own damn song and stop ripping off old music that sound great the way they were written! Geez!!
