Between Truth and Lies Ch. 16

Alex's P.O.V.
I was laying in bed talking on the phone to Katelyn. She was pregnant. I knew she would be. I was happy for her and Nick, but they were still too young to have kids.
Katelyn: "Alex..you and Joe can handle kids. But can Nick and I? I'm so afriad. I wasn't expecting this. Help. please."
Alex: "Katelyn.." I laughed at her. "Settle down. Take a deep breath and relax. You have 8 more moths until your child arrives, you have time to learn and practice to be a mother. I will help you too."
She laughed and took a deep breath.
Katelyn: "Thank you. Well, Nick is coming up there to see you so i'm going to come with him. I'll talk to you soon."
Alex: "Alright. See you soon hun."

I hung up and looked at Joe. He was laying back in a chair, Nicholas and Rose laying in their beds around him and they were all asleep. I giggled. It was an adorable sight.
"Do you need anything Miss Alex?" Tia came walking into the room.
"No." I shook my head.
"Oh..look at them." She smiled. "They're all so cute. He makes a wonderful father Alex. Nice choice." She winked at me and we both laughed.
"He's been wonderful and I appreciate everything he does for me. He needed a break though. All i've been doing is sleeping while he takes care of the babies."
"You need your rest. It isn't going to be easy taking care of those two. Do you and Mr. Jonas live together?"
I shook my head 'no.' I had never thought of us living together before. As a family. The four of us.
"Hello?" My mom and Denise walked into the room.
Tia smiled, said 'hello,' and then left to give us all privacy.
"Hi mom. Hi Denise."
Mom and Denise both kissed my forehead and each of them picked up a child.
"Ohhh! My first grandchildren!" Mrs. Jonas started to cry a little as she held Nick in her arms. "He's so adorable."
"He look's just like Joe." I smiled. "Curly dark hair. Dark brown eyes. He's definitely a Jonas."
Denise laughed.
"And she looks everything like you Alex." Mom rocked Rose back and forth.
"Except she has curly hair. I do not."
"She has your beautiful green eyes." A voice spoke up.
I looked at Joe and he was smiling at me.
"Did we wake you? I'm sorry dear." Denise kissed Joe's forehead while grabbing Nick's blanket.
"Auntie Alex!"
I looked towards the door and saw my sister and her daughter, Sophie. Nick and Katelyn right behind them with Mr. Jonas.
"Hi Soph! How's my favorite niece?" I laughed and hugged my sister.
"Congrats Mommy." Shelby laughed at me.
She was right. I was a mommy now. Every woman in the room is or is going to be a mommy.
"Oh Al, you look so tired." Shelby sat on the edge of the bed.
I sat up and shrugged. I was tired, yes, but I had slept a lot last night.
"What are my nephew and niece's names?" Nick sat down in a chair across the small room.
"Nicholas Joseph and Rose Alena." Joe smiled.
"Aww! They're so cute!" Katelyn laughed and sat next to me on the small bed.
"When do you get out of the hospital?" Mom asked.
"Tomorrow. I have to get a check up." I rolled my eyes.
"Oh they aren't bad Alex. They are going to ask you if you want your tubes tyed though."
My eyes went wide.
"What?! They are not touching my tubes!" Everyone laughed at me. "I'm serious! I'm only 22! I can still have more kids!"
Joe's eyes shot to me.
"What?"
"Relax...not now."
"Damn." He chuckled.
"Joseph!" Denise and Paul said at the same time.
I laughed. I didn't want more kids at this very moment. Maybe sometime in the future. If Joe and I stay together, that is.

Joe's P.O.V.
Alex was sleeping on the couch and I was left with two crying babies. How the hell does she do this when i'm gone?
It's been four months since Nick and Rose were born. Katelyn was getting bigger everyday and Alex was getting smaller each day. Katelyn was now five months pregnant and she was still freaking out
over being a mother who's only 19.
Ring..ring...
"Damn phone!"
I set down Rose and answered Alex's home phone. It was her mom who was in Ohio.
"Yeah, we're doing great....She's sleeping right now...Mhm..alright...thanks....talk to you soon."
I laid my head back on the couch and sighed. I felt Alex move beside me and the next thing I knew she was kissing my neck. I enjoyed it.
"Stressed?" She whispered in my ear so sweetly that it gave me goosebumps on every part of my body.
I nodded slowly and she giggled.
"These are the kinds of days that i sometimes wish we didnt have kids."
"Well...they are sleeping..." She grinned as did I.
I jumped off the couch, pulling her up the stairs with me. She closed the door behind us and I pulled her shirt off.
