This was done to make the backhoe look bad, and with the right operator the backhoe could have easily won

The excavator is small and handy for small jobs and stuf, but if you need to move the excavator over the road, you always need a truck ore a big power full car with a trailer.

So you need an extra vehicle to move the excavator over the road.

The backhoe just make's itself ready for transportation and it go's just like that.

The right operator to the right machine make's a lot of diference, that also counts for the right machine for the right job.

Lifting trench boxes (dirt shields) into place??? With out the fear of falling over.

Now I drive both and have done for the last 12 years.

There both brilliant machines. But in my honest opinion the back how will do all the tasks of a 360' and more. So therefore the better machine. :-)

A little to one sided to be a real competition. Maybe someone should stage a another backhoe vs. mini excavator competition where one of the events can be cleaning several different yards, in the same town, after a massive snowstorm. Let's see a time, fuel consumption comparsion for that.

I have owned both. I now own just the mini. It's much more vesitile, FASTER, more efficient, and can EASILY be transported. Finally someone showed a challenge. The traditional backhoe owners don't want to admit there weaknesses and the mini's strengths. And yes, a backhoe can load a dump faster. That's 1.

this is one of the worst pieces of brand development ever, dont get me wrong for plain digging the swingers are far more productive but as others have already mention its easy to beat a backhoe with such a tard on the seat... mainly 7 steps to reposition??? try 1. just push yourself back instad of driving and thats no less safe than the guy on the swinger tracking backwards not looking in the direction of travel. if that was the test he would be bumped of site by hse any way.

Well, this was rigged... don't get me wrong, I love my mini Hitachi excavator, but there are tons of applications where the backhoe beats the excavator that they failed to show here, especially when it comes to having the loader bucket on the front. I guess hat is why we have a mini excavator and a loader, why have 2 in one when you can have one of each! but no joke, if you were going to buy one, the backhoe is probably more useful except for a few situations (the ones they showed here! hahaha).
