Visit a California dairy with KQED Climate Watch's Craig Miller and learn about how one farmer is turning methane gas produced by his cows into energy for powering the farm. Learn more about methane in our two-part series, Methane: The Other Greenhouse Gas at http://www.kqed.org/news/climatewatch/multimedia/methane.jsp

  • methane is not a persistent gas like carbon dioxide, so a direct comparison using only the infra red absorbance is invalid. There is no proof that there are more ruminants now than 10 000 years ago. Nearly all the bison(ruminants) in America were killed. The globe did not cool as a result. In any case why is Kyotot taxing milk producers and not oil producers? Just check the budget of their respective lobbyists!

  • New methane gas has been released north of siberia we have to find a way to save the planet

  • And the amount of CO2 produced due to harvesting and shipping all those crops to people who live in countries where its too cold to grow crops like soya, rice and maize(the main stables of a vegan diet)?

Also the huge economic impact of so many beef/milk produces and the secondary industries dependant on them goin bust?

  • How about stop eating rice to buddy

  • The easiest way to reduce greenhouse gases is going vegan.
