  • the blue screws look really nice...beautiful,doubt I could afford one.

  • @herrmauri That's a compelling arguement; the continued dominance of the "Swiss" label in watchmaking. I counter with this... In 1908 the Ford Motor Company revolutionized the auto industry with the assembly line. And, Ford "dominated" the automobile industry. A century later this same company is clawing for market-share... Swiss dominance isn't a foregone conclusion... As the Asians get better it will force the Swiss to compete. Seagull may be the Valjoux of the future...

  • @BigBlue0002

You're right and no so right, because swiss watches are like ferrari, there better cars around but people buy them to show they can afford 'em. Perhaps mid-low swiss brands will be fighting against other watches for instance, these chinese stuhrling but the high end luxury will never dissapear. sorry 4 my english

  • The band is horrible though, would have been better with a rubber one instead

  • And, here come the Chinese... An ST-90050 movement in an attractive package. Takes many styling cues from Swiss manufactures. (someone mentioned Corum. I spy a little Patek Phillipe)

Chinese horolouge is up and comming. This Alpine is an example. Possibly, in the next 20 years, the Swiss will be in a dogfight for "market share"; either bring prices down or get slain by the Dragon. Ask GM, Ford and Chrysler (are they still around?) about those "crappy" Japanese imports of 30 years ago...

  • corum bubble anyone?

  • I detest those plated screws on the bezel and the overly mannerist lug end covers, but it's sort of interesting in a pseudo Hublot way.
