Presentation by Amy Gorman (College of William and Mary) for the 2010 NMC Symposium on New Media & Learning (March, 2010, http://www.nmc.org/2010-nml-symposium)

Museums have long been a place of life-long learning, but with the integration of new and social media the potential for perpetual learning is expanding rapidly. Learn what museums are currently doing, to incorporate new media into their mission-driven learning objectives, and how these tactics are building connections and constructing meaning to prepare people for a life time of learning. Includes a review of current trends in museum social media, and projections to how these early foundations in new media will affect the future of new and social media as a tool for continual learning.
