No, I think the G500 is a nice product!
But, the 2-tube Aspen provides a fully-redundant ADAHRS that allows removal of the "steam gauge" instruments. Add the third screen, and you have a place to put additional information that there's not a clear place for on the G500.
The G500 has nice big screens so the PFD isn't cluttered and charts fit better on the MFD.
You said the G500 is "much better". I'm genuinely interested why you think so, since I'm considering both but leaning towards Aspen.

Based upon what? You do realize that when the Aspen MFD is certified, the PFD/MFD combination will provide a two-screen solution with a fully-redundant ADAHRS and dual, independent backup power sources right?
I congratulate Garmin for lowering the price on their product to compete with Aspen, and I do think that they have some nice features enabled by their larger screens (like SVT and approach plates), but 'much better'? I'd like to know how you figure.
